Dog Parkour started in the UK around 8 years ago and is growing quickly into a fabulous activity for owners and their dogs. It provides new opportunities for you to have fun with your dog while building confidence and learning new skills. Dogs love to learn so find this activity mentally stimulating. You and your dog will work as a team strengthening your already amazing bond. Dogs enjoy climbing, balancing, crawling and jumping as they navigate their way through the surrounding environment. One of the great aspects of dog parkour is that unlike many other dog activities, parkour does not require any specialised equipment. You can have fun with your dog using any safe obstacles which you find in the home, garden or out on walks.
There is also the chance to work towards Dog Parkour UK Titles or, you can just do this great activity for fun.Dog Parkour is for any breed of dog, small or large. Age is no barrier, starting from 8 weeks of age to keeping dogs active through their senior years. Doing this safely and properly improves your dog’s mobility, helps with spatial awareness, flexibility and joint health. Anxious dogs benefit hugely as this builds their self esteem therefore improving confidence.
Dog Parkour takes the safety of dogs seriously. You will be taught how to use obstacles safely and it is essential that your dog has a “Y” shaped properly fitted harness to take part.
