Programme:
This expedition will include two weekend indoor training sessions, one practice expedition and one qualifying expedition. During the first training weekend we will also cover getting to know each other, understanding maps, route planning, tent challenges, first aid, Trangia stove familiarisation and kit – as well as lots of DofE fun!
Two weekend indoor training sessions at Guys Farm Activity Centre, Lancaster LA2 9DF:
1st training session: Saturday 16 November – Sunday 17 November 2024
2nd training session: Saturday 22 February – Sunday 23 February 2025
Attendance at both sessions will be required
Practice Expedition: North Lancashire
Evening of Friday 2nd May – Sunday 4 May
(this will be 2 nights camping, 1 day walking, half day planning qualifying journey)
Qualifying expedition: North Lancashire
Saturday 19 July – Monday 21 July
(3 days walking, 2 nights camping, with assessment)
Cost: £80 (please note this is non-refundable)
This includes payment for indoor accomodation, campsites and supervisor/assessor expenses for 2 x weekend training sessions, 1 x practice expedition and 1 x qualifying expedition. Tents, stoves and fule will be provided. 65 litre rucksacks can also be supplied. This will also cover an evening meal, breakfast and lunch during the first training weekend, for the second training weekend, participants will be asked to be provide their own as part of the training session.
Once you have booked onto the residential, you will then be sent information on how to pay. Your place will not be confirmed until your £80 has been received.
