Dodgeball Toronto is thrilled to host our FOURTH (whoa!) annual women's, men's and mixed CASH & PRIZES Kick Off dodgeball tournament.
We put a heavy emphasis on player experience and take great pride in hosting some of the best tournaments our country has to offer. With every event we host, we commit to making improvements driven by your feedback.
-Player-centric tournament, run by and for dodgeball players in touch with community members and leaders to offer you the best possible dodgeball experience. ❤️
-Several dedicated professional athletic photographers 📸📸📸 for players to create & share meaningful memories (thousands of high quality, professional athletic grade event photographs delivered - check out our Facebook page for previous albums).
-ALL matches filmed 🎥 for ALL divisions in high-def (4k 60fps), uploaded to our YouTube channel immediately post event.
-Portrait Studio 💁🏽♀️💁🏼💁🏿♂️for teams and players to take professional studio grade team and/or individual mementos.
-Tournament wide professional videography 🎥 - producing highlights, promotion, and general dodgeball content.
-2 Courts with high quality live streaming and scattered commentary coverage streamed to our YouTube channel.
-Condensed and improved tournament scheduling, now with more dedicated staff focused solely on event/player experience and timeliness. 😬⌚️🕰️
-High quality courts and venue courtesy of the world-class Markham Pan Am Community Centre, with 7 courts to accommodate more teams and games, plus a dedicated warm up area for teams/players waiting to play. 👬🏽

-ALL matches officiated by 2 head referees and 2 corner referees 👨🏼⚖️👩🏻⚖️with a dedicated main referee for every court. 👨🏾⚖️👩🏼⚖️

Tournament format:
-7" WDBF Foam, Dodgeball Canada ruleset
-(5x) 25 minute round robin games
-Minimum (1x) 25 minute playoff game guaranteed (35 minutes for gendered divisions)
-Divisions: Men's Open (24 teams), Women's Open (18 teams), -Mixed Recreational (16 teams), Mixed Open (24 teams)
-Tiered playoffs for Men's/Women's/Mixed Open with consolation brackets. Single playoff bracket for Mixed Recreational.
-Single elimination playoff format
-Recommended roster size of 8-10 players (can have up to 12 players rostered total)
-Mixed divisions 3:3 split (minimum 3 female-identifying players required on court to start a set)
-All participants must be at least 18 years old. Participants under 18 require parental consent.

Players will only be eligible to play in mixed recreational OR mixed open (exceptions made for recreational teams/players looking to play in the mixed open - no highly competitive players will be permitted in our recreational division). The general rule of thumb is: If you have to ask "Can I play rec?" then you probably can't. No national team members, no high performing @ Clubs/Nationals players (Dodgeball Toronto discretion will apply here).
Tournament Run Time: Saturday January 17th through Sunday January 18th
Saturday: 7am to 5pm (women's RR + playoffs & consolation playoffs)
Saturday: 11:35am to 9:30pm (men's RR + playoffs & consolation playoffs)
Sunday: 7:00am to 3:30pm (mixed recreational RR + playoffs)
Sunday: 9:40am to 1:25pm (men's quarter-finals onwards)
Sunday: 9:40am to 12:10pm (men's consolation semi-finals + finals)
Sunday: 1:25pm to 9:35pm (mixed open RR + playoffs & consolation playoffs)
*Individual registrants: we will be taking registrations for individuals. THAT SAID: individual registrations will only be valid if a) we reach sufficient individuals to create a team and b) there is still room in a division to host said team. We HEAVILY encourage you to register, but also have created a free agent hub where you can post your candidacy and teams can browse to reach out and pick you up!

Rooms are $159 + all applicable taxes per night for quad occupancy, available for check in as early as the evening of Wednesday, January 15th, and check out as late as Wednesday, January 21st. The Hotel is a 4 star accommodation and only a 10-15 minute drive away from our venue!

**Reminder that prize, prize money & structure is always subject to final numbers - we will be announcing prize money per division by Sunday, January 11th, 2026.
Fees:
Team registration fee: $800 CAD
Individual registration fee: $100 CAD
Waivers:
Players looking to fill the waiver out in advance can do so at www.dodgeballtoronto.net/waiver2026. This only needs to be done once per person per calendar year (2026) and you're covered for all of our leagues, tournaments, and events for the whole year!
