This award-winning documentary by Royce Osborn celebrates Black Carnival in New Orleans in all its riotous, colorful and spiritual glory. Incorporating classic New Orleans music, previously-unseen photographs and film footage, and interviews with major Carnival players, it pairs with Timothy D. Lace’s photography exhibit displayed on our art exhibition wall this month, Photographs of Mardi Gras Indians.The program was broadcast nationally on PBS stations, and was awarded at the New Orleans Film Festival. It has been called one of the best documentaries ever made on New Orleans history.
