Join the Brantford/Brant community for National Addictions Awareness Week to watch the documentary, Flood: The Overdose Epidemic in Canada, created by the organization, Moms Stop the Harm.
The documentary will be screened at the Brantford Public Library on Colborne Street in the second floor open space (enter the main lobby of the Library, turn right to the open space).
The screening will begin at 6pm.
Please be advised that this documentary portrays content related to substance use and harm reduction.
Library Parking:
On street parking is available in downtown and is free for up to two hours on weekdays and all weekend long. There is one wheelchair accessible parking space located outside the front entrance on Colborne Street. Parking is also available in the Market Centre Parkade located at 59 Icomm Drive, behind the Main Branch. This lot is free on weekends and has hourly and daily parking rates on weekdays.
About the documentary:
Flood: The Overdose Epidemic in Canada is a documentary that aims to reduce the stigma around substance use disorder (SUD) and inspire others to take action. "From major cities to small towns this issue has taken lives, ruined families and flooded our communities.
Several advocates of Moms Stop The Harm, including our co founders Leslie McBain (Pender Island, BC) and Petra Schulz (Edmonton, AB), Deb Hale-Bailey (Vancouver), Kym Porter (Medicine Hat), Sheila Jennings and Irene Paterson (Toronto) contributed to this documentary, as did many key players in the Canadian drug policy and harm reduction community.
About Moms Stop the Harm:
Moms Stop the Harm is a network of Canadian families impacted by substance-use-related harms and deaths. They advocate for the change of failed drug policies, provide peer support to grieving families, and assist those with loved ones who use or have used substances.
