DOCJOC is back on stage, kicking off his 2025 New Zealand run with his first-ever Wellington show at Meow! Blending live acoustic drumming with electronic elements, he delivers an electrifying performance you won’t want to miss.In 2022, DOCJOC (Jono Blackie) ignited his passion for melding live acoustic drums with computer and DJ dominated music genres, like drum and bass, sparked by his older brother’s idea. Inspired by the use of 60s funk drum solos in contemporary drum and bass tracks, Jono aimed to replicate them live on his drum kit. After a year of refining his concept, he debuted his groundbreaking live show at the Darkroom (CHCH), blending iconic drum and bass tunes with his drumming prowess. After 4 successful gigs in 2024, DOCJOC returns to Meow kicking off his shows for 2025.
