As part of Nillumbik Seniors Festival, Council is offering a free document shredding event for older residents.Safely dispose of confidential documents such as old bank statements, bills and business records.
No bookings required.
You can dispose of up to four archive size boxes of documents; the Shred on Site truck will be parked in the carpark and will shred your documents on site while you watch on a screen.
Council staff and Diamond Creek Men's Shed volunteers will be available to assist with moving boxes.
Shredded documents are recycled and repurposed into pizza boxes and other similar products.
Sorting and preparation of your documents must be completed before you arrive.
You can shred paper-based documents - manila folders, lateral files, notebooks, diaries, business cards, cheque butts. You do not need to remove staples or paperclips.
You cannot shred cardboard boxes, plastic, hanging files, lever arch files and ring binders, general rubbish (pens, pencils, USB sticks), x-rays or batteries.
Shred at your own risk. Make sure you have sorted through boxes carefully and are only shredding documents you want to dispose of.
This event is being run with support from Diamond Creek Men's Shed who will be having a Shed Open Day (BBQ & shed tours) at the same time. Come on down and shred your documents and visit the Men's Shed.
