About the speaker:
Adam Koons holds a doctorate in Applied Anthropology from the American University. His career has focused on poverty reduction, food security, disaster management, emergency response and humanitarian assistance as a full-time practitioner. Until recently, he worked for the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Before joining FEMA, he worked on international programs, lived overseas for 23 years, and worked on poverty programs and disaster response in over 40 countries.
