About this Event
This workshop is all about men and their pelvic floor—what it is, why it matters, and what every man should know.
In this educational and practical workshop, you will learn what the pelvic floor is, how it functions, common conditions/issues men experience, and what you can do to address symptoms and improve quality of life.
Join Karine, owner of PelviCare Physical Therapy, as she guides you through a foundational understanding of male pelvic health, including:
Understanding the Male Pelvic Floor:
• Anatomy and function of the male pelvic floor
• How it works together with the diaphragm, abdominal wall, hips, and spine
You Will Learn How the Pelvic Floor Affects:
• Bladder and bowel control
• Sexual function, including erections and ejaculation
• Core strength and posture, saddle position on the bike
• Pressure control during lifting, coughing, and exercise
Common Signs and Symptoms of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
• Urine leakage, urgency, or difficulty starting the urine stream
• Dribbling after urination
• Pelvic, testicular, penile, tailbone, or groin pain
• Pain with sitting or exercise or numbness after cycling or activity
• Erectile dysfunction or ejaculation concerns
• Persistent symptoms after prostate or pelvic surgery
Sometimes pelvic floor muscles are weak and need strengthening. And often, they are too tight or not coordinating well. Both can cause symptoms—and both are very treatable.
This workshop is designed to empower men with knowledge, reduce stigma, and provide practical tools to take away to support pelvic health, at every stage of life and activity level.
Light snacks and sparkling water will be provided for attendees during the presentation.
