Welcome, brave adventurers, to a Dungeons & Dragons Campaign!The Kingdom of Blizzard Mountain has long been a peaceful realm, but dark clouds now loom above. A fierce dragon has taken residence within the heart of the kingdom, threatening all who dare approach. It is said that only the most skillful and daring souls will survive the perilous journey to the dragon’s lair… and emerge victorious. Do you have the strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma to claim glory? Your path will be treacherous, filled with challenges, perilous battles, and… of course, pinball!
**The Quest:**
Our epic journey will commence at 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 3rd. All adventurers must assemble at the castle gate. As your Dungeon Masters, we shall guide you on a quest filled with uncertainty, but also with the promise of riches and honor.
**Qualifying: Target Match Play – Survive Your Journey to the Dragon’s Lair**
The first part of our journey is fraught with peril: the Target Match Play. Each party will receive a map of the path they must follow to reach the dragon’s lair. Your task is to navigate the treacherous forest, battling fierce creatures and facing tests of skill to move forward.
The Pinball Battle is your battleground. Each game you play will pit you against two or three of your fellow adventurers, where the stronger you play, the further you progress toward the dragon’s den. You must fight fiercely, for your placement in each round determines your movement on the map:
- **1st place** in a battle grants you **3 moves forward**—you have shown great might!
- **2nd place** earns you **2 moves forward**, proving your worth but leaving room for improvement.
- **3rd place** brings **1 move forward**—not the best, but still on your way.
- **4th place** results in being **stuck**—trapped by a gelatinous cube, you cannot advance… yet! But fear not, as the next round may grant you another chance to escape.
You must pass 12 waypoints to complete your journey—Race against time, against your opponents, and against the clock, for only the top half of competitors will reach the **Dragon’s Lair**—the final arena where the real battle awaits!
**The Dragon’s Lair: The Amazing Race**
Once you reach the lair, the **Amazing Race** awaits. Here, the journey is no longer about strategy alone, but about survival. It’s not just the dragon you must defeat—it’s also your rivals. The remaining competitors will face off in a pinball gauntlet, where the final survivor wins! Outrun the dragon by scoring higher than the lowest score for each game in this round. The dragon is a fierce creature with the power to strike down even the mightiest adventurer, and it will flambé whichever adventurer has the lowest score in each game. Can you conquer this beast and claim the title of Pinball Champion? Or will you be reduced to mere ashes?
**Critical Hit Consolation Tournament**
Not all heroes are destined for the Dragon’s Lair. If your journey does not end in victory, do not despair! There will be a **Critical Hit Consolation Tournament** for those who wish to continue their training. (Note: no WPPRs for Critical Hit.)
**Cost to Join the Adventure**
To enter this perilous tournament, the cost is 10 gold coins ($10), plus the cost of games as you battle your way to glory. The road is long, but the rewards are rich—if you survive!
