"" by Mamadou Yattassaye is a 2025 short film about a first-generation Malian son and his immigrant father stuck in an elevator, exploring themes of identity, family, and geography through their strained relationship, with the title referencing their face-to-face encounter and deeper cultural connections, showcasing Yattassaye's move towards cinematic storytelling.
Alex Sanon, one of the actors in the film, will be present for a QA session after the screening.
" Le Dernier Repas " by Maryse Legagneur was released in 2024. Reynold is dying of cancer. He uses his last meal to share it with his daughter. As the meal progresses, a ritual begins to take hold, the dishes acting as reminders of the past. Vanessa discovers who her father really is.
