Yacouba Traore is a Djembe Fola and Griot from Burkina Faso. Since 1993, he has performed internationally with Adama Drame and came to the United States with Solidarite Sympa in 2016. He plays with General Tchefary and Jaliya in Tucson. He will be drumming Dec. 6 at First Friday, downtown Phoenix.In this workshop he will be teaching African rhythms he has played his entire life. Come learn the song, the history, the rhythm and accompaniments. He will be teaching djembe and dununs so please bring your drums. If you need to borrow, please let us know.
