Djangocalypse Trio are Dunedins' only Gypsy-Jazz ensemble, bringing the sounds of 1930s France to the deep south. The name pays homage to Django Reinhardt - one of the all time great jazz guitarists and founder of the Gypsy-Jazz genre. The trio comprises Andy Parsons on gypsy manouche guitar, Daniel Potter on upright bass and Simon Christie on 2nd guitar, vocals and clarinet. With a constantly expanding repertoire, Djangocalypse Trio shows are a feast for the ears including everything from frenetically paced gypsy swing tunes through to slow ballads and waltzes.$15 public |$10 members
