I’ll be spinning shellac and vinyl from the 1920s-1970s at 1642 on Friday, September 12th, from 9pm-midnight PDT. The majority of the music will be 1950s-70s African pop and 1920s-30s jazz, with Hawaiian, country, blues, R&B, and various Latin American and Caribbean styles thrown into the mix. Many of the records are not available on any reissue, and all will be selected to catch the ear even amidst the din of a chatty crowd. No cover, but please patronize the bar and buy a drink or three. 1642 is a cozy place and can fill up easily, so come early if you want to be sure to have a seat!Even if you have been vaccinated against Covid-19, please do not attend if you are having Covid-like symptoms or have recently been exposed to someone else who has Covid. Thanks for taking the steps to help us all stay well!
