About this Event
Dive into the world of Chinese craftsmanship at 7s Art's DIY Workshop, where you’ll explore two traditional techniques: Mother-of-Pearl Inlay (螺钿) and Miao Silver (苗银).
- Mother-of-Pearl Inlay (螺钿) is an intricate art form where colorful shell fragments are embedded into accessories, creating shimmering, one-of-a-kind designs. Originating in ancient China, this craft has been treasured for its elegance and delicate patterns.
- Miao Silver (苗银), known for its intricate and bold designs, is a hallmark of the Miao ethnic group. The unique silverwork combines traditional handcraft with cultural symbolism, making each piece a wearable story.
Under the guidance of our skilled instructor, you’ll create two accessories of your choice—select from a necklace, hairpin, earring, or brooch. This hands-on workshop is perfect for anyone interested in DIY crafting, jewelry, or Chinese culture. No prior experience is needed!
By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with two stunning handmade accessories and a deeper appreciation for these exquisite crafts. Materials and tools will be provided, and participants can take their creations home in a bag provided by 7s Art.
