Come join our DIY Soap Making Workshop and learn how to create your own custom soaps from scratch!In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of soap making. Understand the various methods of making soap and watch a demonstration of Goats Milk Cold-Process Soap from start to finish. Participants will learn which types of bases to use, how to add colors, essential oils, and fragrances, and techniques to achieve different textures in their soaps. Participants will not create their own soap during the workshop, but will receive a printed/digital guide to take home, safety glasses and a bar of your choice of our Goats Milk Soap.
In the guide:
-Learn the Holmesteading Farms signature soap recipe, Undoctored. Undoctored soap is a creamy, super gentle soap that has a following of eczema and sensitive skin users. Our Undoctored soap has no coloring or fragrance with gentle cleaning power to use on face, hands, body and hair.

Safety First: cold-process soap uses an acid for the chemical reaction necessary, you will be required to wear the provided safety glasses during the demonstration. For this reason, participants under the age of 16 will be REQUIRED to attend with a guardian (at no additional cost) to ensure that safety precautions are followed when making their own soap. All attendees MUST have registered, in order to agree with these safety terms.
Frozen Goats Milk: will be available for purchase to participants at registration, immediately following the workshop or after for soap making use ONLY. Goats Milk cannot be purchased for human consumption in Ohio without a herd share agreement. If you do not have a herd share agreement with Holmesteading Farms, you DO NOT have permission to use it for human consumption. Please bring a cooler bag with a freezer pack if you would like to take the goats milk home with you, the benefits of goats milk are best left frozen until you are ready to make soap.

LOCATION: This class will be held at Holmesteading Farms at 27389 Bagley Rd. Olmsted Township OH 44138 in our back of the farm outdoor covered pavilion. From the parking area to the pavilion it is approximately 100 feet, please let us know if you need a parking accommodation. Please dress for the weather!
