DIY Lawn Conversion Workshop: Day 2

Join us February 15 to learn about sustainable landscape design and help install a water efficient garden based on permaculture principles in Fairfield!

This public, hands-on installation workshop series to replace a water thirsty lawn with shade trees and plantings can lead to better air quality. This workshop will create a demonstration water efficient garden in Fairfield providing an opportunity to learn about rainwater capture, water efficient drip irrigation and how to plant and mulch to create a water wise, resilient garden that builds healthy soil and provides habitat for pollinators and shade for the community!

Day2: Saturday, Nov Feb 15-Planting and Irrigation

The focus this day will be learning about the plants selected and how to install drip irrigation. We will be learning about native plants and selecting the best trees to create shade.

***As part of the second day of installation, additional free trees may be provided to Fairfield residents to help improve air quality and reduce the impact of the urban heat island effect. Residents will also have the opportunity to give feedback on a community air quality action plan.
