About this Event
Please note: Below is a broken dish with the acceptable broken pieces. Refer to the dish that has many small/tiny pieces, that is not acceptable to bring to the workshop because it will be too time consuming and complicated the more pieces there are to glue together.
Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with lacquer and dusted with gold powder.
Kintsugi embraces the flaws and imperfections of an object and creates something stronger and more beautiful than before.
Kintsugi can be seen as a powerful metaphor for human resilience. In our lives, we all experience moments of pain, loss and trauma that can leave us emotionally wounded. But like Kintsugi, we can choose to repair those wounds and transform them into something beautiful and valuable
Do you have a dish or ceramic piece that has been broken but is still special to you? Bring your piece to this class and we will work to restore it via the kintsugi method.I will also provide a complete DIY kit for you to take home if we can not complete the repair in class. This class is limited to 6 people max so that there will be plenty of individual attention.
