Join in for a night of making your own soft cover notebooks at McCarren Parkhouse in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Led by Kelly Laughlin, artist, writer, and founder of Odette Press, learn the basics of the suminagashi and find creative flow as you make your own marbled paper designs. Grab a drink from the bar and flow with ink, breath, paper, and water.

The flow:
We'll start with introductions to ground into the space and the process. You'll learn about bookmaking tools and techniques, journaling ideas, and self publishing, and be guided through the steps to make your own hand sewn journal. If you've been curious about self-publishing, bookbinding, or sewing your own journals, this workshop is for you! Come explore this satisfying, creative process. No prior experience necessary, and all materials provided. You'll leave with two handmade journals, and ideas for how to fill the pages.
All materials provided. Ticket includes your first drink from the bar.

This class takes place in the heated, enclosed patio at McCarren Parkhouse. Refunds can be requested before 48 hours of the event.
