About this Event
This is a Continuing Education class at the Visible Futures Lab, within the School of Visual Arts on building guitar pedals. Every participant will design and build one guitar pedal which they will take with them on the last class. We will use Abode Illustrator to design the artwork for the pedal and a UV printer to print the art on our pedals. This class is designed for beginner to intermediates. Cost is $355

From the SVA website:
Guitar pedals provide a world of sonic and electronic exploration in a colorful little box. They can be used to modulate and manipulate the tone of guitars, basses, synthesizers, or any other sound fed to them. Students will design, solder, and fabricate guitar pedals as well as design the graphics that make them stand out. Students will learn the basics of electronics, including component identification and soldering, as well as how to read a circuit diagram. A UV printer will be used to apply custom graphics onto aluminum enclosures to create a finished product. While there will be clear goals about what will be covered and created in this course, experimentation will also be encouraged. Sessions are held in the Visible Futures Lab, a state-of-the-art rapid prototyping facility and fabrication space.
Note: The materials fee covers materials, including breadboards, resistors, capacitors and integrated circuits. This course is held on campus at SVA.
