What to expect
This event is hosted by Heart Comonos, and will be facilitated by our Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Arwen!
This is the second part of our mending series. Mending is much more than just repairing a hole in your shirt. It's a meditative practice that connects us to the things around us, repairing fabrics and extending their stories.
In this workshop, Arwen will teach basic hand sewing and embroidery techniques to help you repair woven clothing/hats/bags and give them a customized look!
You’ll create a patch or embroider directly onto your clothes to customize them.
All materials are provided — just bring yourself, a willingness to learn, and an open heart.
No experience needed!
Meet the Facilitator, Arwen
Hi folks, I'm Arwen Muir Karaszewski! You may have seen me at Heart Comonos events or through our emails/social media. I am an artist and illustrator who's been creating my whole life and grew up in Cooksville. Currently, I am studying Illustration at OCAD University. Along with my illustration work, I am practicing textile arts, mending and meditation. I have a passion for teaching others and encouraging people to express themselves through art, as humans have been doing since the beginning of our time.
