Come learn the art and science of making your own digestive bitters! And go home with your own tincture!
About this Event

Come learn the art and science of making your own digestive bitters! We’ll discuss how our bodies and cultures evolved with the bitter flavor and how we can use bitters to regulate our guts, mood, blood sugar and more. We’ll explore how to choose bitter herbs that are appropriate for our individual constitutions, and how to balance a formula to make it delicious and get it where it needs to go in the body. I’ll bring herbs from my garden and we’ll supplement with herbs from Cambridge Naturals to make an individualized bitters tincture we can take home!

Sliding Scale Guide ($30–$50):

  • $30 ($20 + $10 for materials) - Bottom of the Scale: Meeting basic needs is often a source of stress, and you have little to no expendable income. Paying at this level makes the class more accessible.Top of the Scale: You can comfortably meet your basic needs, have steady income, and may have expendable funds for savings, travel, or non-essentials. Paying at this level helps sustain access for others.
  • $40 ($30 + $10 for materials) - Middle of the Scale: You can usually meet your basic needs but may feel occasional financial stress. You have some expendable income and may buy new items or take occasional time off.
  • $50 ($40 + $10 for materials) - Top of the Scale: You can comfortably meet your basic needs, have steady income, and may have expendable funds for savings, travel, or non-essentials. Paying at this level helps sustain access for others.

Choosing your spot on the scale is an act of community care - those who can contribute more help make it possible for others to participate.

Mo Katz-Christy (they/them) is a queer Ashkenazi Jewish herbalist born and raised in Cambridge, MA on unceded Massachusett land. They approach herbalism by connecting folks to the knowledge they already have about their body and herbs through working with kitchen medicine, ancestral traditions, and mulberries falling on the sidewalk!

Mo graduated from a three-year clinical herbalism program at the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism in 2022. They work one-on-one with clients to address the root imbalances that are causing dysregulation and to promote long-term healing. You can find out more about their work at mokatzchristy.com
