Learn how to make scrappy personal art films!
About this Event

This workshop will inspire filmmakers who want to make scrappy personal art films in order to build confidence, community, and momentum towards larger art projects in the future.

Instructor

Daniel Freeman is a microbudget filmmaker and experimental music composer. He blends fiction and documentary approaches to create a scrappy hybrid style rooted in following earnest characters as they attempt to find healing through art and human connection. He was a SFFILM FilmHouse resident in 2019 and 2020, where he directed, wrote, shot and edited his debut feature film Teddy, Out of Tune. The film screened at the Mill Valley, Bushwick, and Maryland Film Festivals, among others. His follow up short film, If You Hum at the Right Frequency, premiered at the San Francisco International Film Festival and later screened at The Roxie Theater during Bay Area Media Summit. Outside of his own projects, Daniel works as a documentary editor and youth filmmaking mentor.
