Diwali in the D: Opening & Dua Lighting Ceremony

Kick off Diwali in the D week with a warm community gathering at Detroit Shipping Company. We’ll open the evening with music and good vibes, share a few brief remarks, and come together for a dua lighting ceremony at dusk (around 6:42 PM)—a moment of reflection, unity, and light for the city we love. After photos, we’ll roll straight into a Detroit Lions Watch Party with the game on the TVs and live DJs keeping the energy up throughout the night.
What to Expect
- 6:00 PM – Doors open, music & mingle
- ~6:35 PM – Welcome remarks & brief speeches
- ~6:42 PM – Dua Lighting Ceremony (at dusk) + group photos
- 7:00–11:00 PM – Detroit Lions Watch Party + Live DJs
- All night – Food specials from Detroit Shipping Company vendors & full bars
