In celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday, a great solemnity, festival, and celebration of the Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 6568 is hosting a public Mass for the state of Wisconsin at the James Madison Park. Anyone is invited to attend. Divine Mercy Sunday was established as a Solemnity on April 30, 2000, by Pope St. John Paul II, and has an emphasis on rounding out the Octave of Easter and acknowledging the mercy Christians find in the sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession) and the Holy Eucharist. We seek to testify to God's infinite mercy by inviting the City of Madison to join us in unity as Children of God. Following this Mass, we will host a Eucharistic procession around the capitol building, and then we will continue the celebration with food and drink at James Madison Park courtesy of local, Catholic-owned businesses.
