Join us for an enlightening musical experience and spiritual discourse on the songs of Fakir Lalon Shah, the beloved mystic bard from Kushtia, Bangladesh. Explore the profound teachings embedded within a selected set of powerful devotional tunes dating back 200 years. Learn of their deep spiritual meaning and their parallels with Buddhism, Sufism and other eastern philosophical traditions.
As the path of spiritual awakening transcends all boundaries, this event intends to transcend linguistic boundaries of spirituality. It will feature songs in Bengali, with real-time translations and a discourse in English. Non-Bengali speakers are welcome. Presented by Canada Arts Council sponsored Bangladeshi folk singer, Farhan Ahmed. The songs and discourse will be on the following themes:
