About this Event
Co-hosted with Parents for Climate and Coral Watch, Divers for Climate are coming together another evening full of community conversations.
🪸EVENT DETAILS🪸
Date: Friday 29th November
Time: 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Location: Hervey Bay Regional Gallery, 166 Old Maryborough Road, Pialba, Qld.
This year the Great Barrier Reef went through its 5th mass bleaching event in less than a decade and temperate reefs and kelp forests in the south felt temperatures exceeding 3 degrees above average. The corals hidden on the doorstep of Hervey Bay also felt the heat. Climate-driven events are continuning to impact our favourite dive sites around the country.
As divers, as those who connect with the underwater world, we are frontline witnesses to the loss of a world that many people have never even seen. But while we've seen the loss, we've also experienced the beauty like no-one else. And it's time for our stories to shine.
Discover the untold climate stories of divers across Australia through our very own Divers for Climate short-film produced by The Undertow Media (Watch the trailer here).
The screening will be followed by an engaging Q&A panel discussion which explores how using your voice and sharing personal stories can influence change.
Nibbles will be provided and seats are limited so get your tickets quick! Tickets are by donation (pay what you feel) and all proceeds go towards supporting our mission to bring the voices of divers to the forefront of climate policy discussions.
