About this Event
Basic Studio Lighting
Unlock the power of Basic Studio Lighting in our comprehensive workshop with Thomas Hopkins Photography! Perfect for photographers looking to level up their studio lighting. This hands-on workshop covers:
- Essential lighting techniques
- Posing
- Communication skills with your subject
With these elements, you will learn how to bring your subjects to life.
What to expect: With a model on hand, you'll get to apply your new lighting “recipe” learned in the morning to real-world scenarios in the afternoon.
Students will have the opportunity to participate using their own cameras and lenses. We will have a limited number of transmitters available.
What to Bring: Bring your camera and a 70-200mm focal length works best for Head Shots. If you have a lens you love, bring that as well.
Students should have basic knowledge of their camera settings, including shutter, aperture and ISO, and know how to change them.
About your instructor: Thomas Hopkins is a professional portrait and dance photographer with over a quarter of a century of experience on two coasts. Tom's photography centers around dance and it's movement with a focus on ballet, troupes and contemporary dance. He also does high school Senior portraits and sports, Corporate headshots, as well as individual portraits and photo portfolios.
