🐬 February Dive Club Meeting – Laura Gill from The Marine Mammal Center!The Marine Mammal Center is the world’s largest marine mammal hospital, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick and injured marine mammals. Located in Sausalito, California, the Center treats over 100 different coastal rescue sites and has cared for more than 27,000 marine mammals since its founding in 1975. In addition to veterinary science and rehabilitation, the Center leads groundbreaking research and offers award-winning education programs that inspire ocean stewardship. Through its global outreach and community engagement, the Center plays a critical role in protecting ocean health and marine wildlife.
We’re thrilled to welcome Laura Gill from The Marine Mammal Center. Laura leads public programming, tours, virtual outreach, and educational experiences aimed at connecting communities with ocean conservation.
With a degree in marine biology from UC Santa Cruz and deep experience at institutions like Aquarium of the Bay and the Roundhouse Aquarium, Laura brings a wealth of knowledge on marine mammals, environmental education, and sustainability. Her passion is contagious, and her goal is to inspire action through storytelling and science. This is a unique chance to learn more about the Marine Mammal Center’s incredible work and how divers like us can contribute to ocean health and wildlife protection.
