Reminder! Sport Divers will be going to the Comal river next weekend February 7th. We’ll meet at the area close to the stairs, just upstream of the “shoot”, at Landa Park at 11:00 am. We’ll prep for our dives there and drift dive upstream from the “shoot”.
NOTE: If you wish to dive downstream of the “shoot”, make sure to arrange transportation to bring you and your dive buddy back to Landa Park. Sport Divers will plan another day of diving during the summer for this longer dive.
Looks like we’ll have great weather for our first “Dive Around Texas” event! Don’t forget to bring water and snacks for the day.

Please call the shop if you have any questions: 281-338-1611.
Hope to see you there!
The Sport Divers of Houston "Dive Around Texas" Tour!
Attention all Houston divers! Are you ready to trade the bayou for the best freshwater gems the Lone Star State has to offer?
Sport Divers of Houston is thrilled to announce our official Dive Around Texas tour! We’re hitting the road to explore the hidden depths, sunken treasures, and crystal-clear springs that make Texas a world-class diving destination. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just getting your fins wet, this is your chance to explore our "home turf" like never before.
From the prehistoric vibes of Mammoth Lake and the emerald pines surrounding the Blue Lagoon, to the underwater playground of Athens Scuba Park, we’ve curated an epic lineup of shore dives that showcase the incredible diversity of Texas diving.
For our first destination, shake off the winter blues and grab your 5mm! On Saturday, February 7, 2026, Sport Divers of Houston is heading to New Braunfels for the legendary Comal River Drift Dive.
While the air might be crisp, the Comal is famously fed by the Edwards Aquifer, keeping the water a constant, spring-fed 72°F (22°C) year-round. It’s the ultimate "winter" dive in Texas—where the water is actually warmer than the air!
This isn't your typical "circle the lake" dive. We enter at Hinman Island Park and let the gentle current do the work. You’ll glide downstream over the riverbeds, navigating through a unique freshwater ecosystem.
The Comal is the world's largest lost-and-found! Because of the summer tubing crowds, the river bottom is littered with "treasures."
