Puya
Since the early 90's, Puerto Rican band, Puya has set themselves apart with their unique brand of latin metal, blending aggressive power riffs with traditional Latin rhythms. Having won multiple awards, worked with prominent producers like Gustavo Santaolaya (Molotov, Juanes) Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and participated in major tours such as Ozzfest 99', Snocore 2000, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Iron Maiden among many others, makes Puya one of the most iconic staples in the Latin rock world.
Octavia
Platinum recording artist Octavia seemingly blends their unique style of Latin Pop Rock with traditional elements of Bolivian Folk. With an extensive history of major tours through Latin and North America, multiple music awards and international recognition, Octavia is considered one of the most important Pop-Rock bands in South America and in Bolivian Rock history.
Ignacio Peña
Critically acclaimed Puerto Rican singer/songwriter Ignacio Peña rose to fame with the release of his 2000 debut album “El Mundo al Revés” and the subsequent tours which saw him perform alongside artists like Oasis, Neil Young, Roger Waters, Eric Clapton, Bryan Adams, and No Doubt. Peña is also an Emmy award winning editor/director, often incorporating his visual work into his concerts, which, coupled with his superb songwriting, offers audiences an incredibly memorable live experience.
Tres Minutos
Hailing from Virginia, Tres Minutos is a Bolivian/American Pop Rock band. In the span of their decade-long existence, Tres Minutos has managed to independently produce an impressive body of work rivaling those of a band signed to a major label. Their catalog is constantly in the top spots on international music charts and has reached audiences all the way to their native Bolivia, where they are held as one of the most important Bolivian rock bands of the moment.
Perro Sombra
Perro Sombra is a Hispanic American rock band from the DMV area. Their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album earned them the 2020 Wammie Award for Best Latin Record and international notoriety. The video for their single Mi Salud Mental won Best Rock Video at the Venice Film Festival and was a finalist in many others. Perro’s big guitars/big drums approach, strong lyrical content and contemporary americana songwriting elements, makes them one of the most exciting and genuine new acts in the Hispanic American rock scene.
Kickoman
Kickoman is a Latin Reggae band from Washington DC. Having played the local circuit for over a decade, Kickoman is a local staple known for their unique blend of rock, reggae, Caribbean rhythms, and energetic performances. This year Kickoman was the recipient of the Wammie Award for Best Latin Band/Group in the region.
Sonic Castaways
Sonic Castaways is an up-and-coming Washington D.C. based band with one of the most fascinating musical approaches in the area. Front man Alejandro Cortes was born and raised in Southern Spain, and his Spanish Rumba/Latin Rock influences are seemingly infused into the eclectic blend of Jazz, Blues, Classic Rock, R&B, and Progressive rock the Castaways bring to the music scene.
