Waukegan Public Schools will host its annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Thursday, October 3. The theme of this year’s celebration of Hispanic history and culture is: “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together.” The event will take place at the Genesee Theatre, 203 N Genesee Street, beginning at 5 p.m.
This event, which is open to all Waukegan families, will celebrate and honor prominent individuals in the Hispanic Community who have impacted history and culture. One of the educational highlights will be a living wax museum, where students from across the District will pose as different individuals.
In addition to the wax museum, families will enjoy a variety of Hispanic-themed performances, crafts, activities, food, and more. Families are asked to register for the event beforehand and can do so here.

Las Escuelas Públicas de Waukegan serán anfitrionas de su Celebración Anual del Mes de la Herencia Hispana, el jueves 3 de octubre.
El tema de la celebración de este año de la historia y la cultura hispana es: “Pioneros del Cambio: Formando Juntos el Futuro.” El evento se llevará a cabo en el Teatro Genesee, 203 N Genesee Street, a partir de las 5 p.m.
Este evento, que está abierto a todas las familias de Waukegan, celebrará y honrará a individuos importantes de la Comunidad Hispana que han impactado la historia y la cultura. Uno de los aspectos educativos más destacados será un museo de cera viviente, donde estudiantes de todo el Distrito se harán pasar por diferentes personajes.
