Distant Worlds invites audiences on a musical journey through planets, imagined galaxies, and landscapes both familiar and unknown. The program moves fluidly between science fiction, celestial grandeur, and reflections on the world around us.
Highlights include Holst’s majestic Jupiter from The Planets, symphonic journeys from Star Trek and Super Mario Bros., and evocative contemporary works by Steve Danyew and Viet Cuong. The concert opens with Randall Standridge’s Galactic Fanfare and concludes with Sousa’s brilliant encore, Transit of Venus—a fitting celebration of exploration and wonder.
The concert is free and open to the public
