The Wheel of Life Mandala is complete.
Geshe Phuntsho will give a brief explanation of the Mandala meaning.The Monks will dissolve the Mandala and then sweep it away.
The dissolution of the Sand Mandala, symbolizing impermanence and non attachment, begins as the Monks offer closing chants and prayers .
The blessed sand is then swept up into a pile, and then again into small portions which will then be given to all those in attendance.
The remainder will be offered to the water as a blessing to the environment and all sentient beings inhabiting it.
Be sure to arrive early to take photos of the Mandala and to get a seat.
This event is part of the Sacred Earth & Healing Arts of Tibet Tour offered by the Tibetian Buddhist Monks of Gaden Shartse Monastic University. See them at El Dorado Federated Church, 1051 Thompson Wy, Placerville CA
