What is Diss-Or-Daps ?
The weekly turned monthly podcast that is filmed in front of a live audience where Rappers/audience members put their names in the bucket and are randomly selected by the show hosts 'J-Reds' & 'Poltergeist OD' & given 60 seconds uninterrupted to rap on stage.
They then rap acapella or spit a written / freestyle over a randomly selected beat. When their 60 seconds is up they will be cut off, and then comedically interviewed by our hosts.
Each event will feature the following:
- Special Guest Host
- Featured DJ
- Headliner Rapper
Explanation:
C.R.E.A.M. of The Crop is a performance-based rapper/MC battle where competitors are given a 15-minute performance slot following Diss-Or-Daps. Competitors will be judged based on the below-listed criteria and scored by the judges using a 10-1 Format. There will be 5 Judges. (Dont forget to read rules/qualifacations)
Lyricism:
Wordplay and Rhyme Schemes: Complexity and creativity in rhymes and wordplay.
Content and Themes: Depth, originality, and relevance of the lyrics.
Clarity and Delivery: Pronunciation and how clearly the lyrics are delivered.
Flow and Rhythm:
Consistency: Smoothness and fluidity of the rap.
Versatility: Ability to switch flows and adapt to different beats.
Timing: Precision in staying on beat and rhythmic creativity.
Stage Presence:
Confidence and Energy:
Engagement with the audience and overall energy.
Movement and Gestures:
Use of stage space and physical expressiveness.
Charisma:
Overall impact and magnetism of the performer.
Originality:
The uniqueness of Style: Distinctiveness and innovation in the performer’s style.
Creativity:
Freshness and inventiveness in both performance and content.
Audience Interaction:
Crowd Engagement:
Ability to connect and engage with the audience.
Call-and-Response:
Effective use of audience participation techniques.
Overall Reaction:
Audience’s response and enthusiasm during and after the performance.
Technical Skills:
Breath Control:
Managing breath to maintain delivery without compromising quality.
Speed and Articulation:
Rapping quickly while maintaining clarity and precision.
Dynamics:
Use of vocal variation, volume changes, and intensity.
Freestyle Ability (if applicable):
Improvisation:
Skill in creating lyrics on the spot.
Relevance and Coherence:
Staying relevant to prompts or themes and maintaining coherence.
Creativity:
Imaginative and innovative content in freestyle verses.
Promotion & Hustle:
Rappers will earn bonus points for their hustle & promotion towards the event.

Overall enjoyment and entertainment provided by the performance.
Performance:
Rappers will have 15 minutes to perform. They will be penalized 10 points for every minute over 16 minutes they perform unless there are intense technical difficulties. Whoever wins will have the chance to perform an additional headlining set for the evening for 10-30 minutes.
Rappers must provide their set on a USB with their setlist labeled and ordered by number to simply things for the DJ.
