Archazia's Island is bringing a whole new world to Disney Lorcana; dual-inks, new keywords and more characters! Gaming DNA is jumping in as well with a brand new way to play the game, Pack Mountain!
This 'King of the Hill' style event uses the Pack Rush format to test players endurance. Players will have to keep winning to keep one of the Champion seats and play for the box at the end - if you lose, you go to the back of the line to challenge again.
Details:
12pm, 22nd March
$40 entry (covers two challenges)
$18 each additional challenge
The event rules:
Challenges
1. A minimum of four tables / four challenge seats will be available for Challengers to face the current Champions, with the winner of each challenge taking or retaining the Champion title for that table.
2. Every player will start with two challenges to use. Once those are exhausted, participants may purchase additional challenges, one at at time.
3. A maximum of 6 additional challenges may be purchased per player (8 total, including initial entry challenges).
4. Packs for each challenge will be provided when a Challenger takes a seat at a challenge table. 2 minutes maximum will be allowed for sleeving, if using sleeves. Challengers will not be able to look through their cards before their match begins.
5. Only Challengers will be provided with new packs. Champions will continue using their deck until they lose, at which point they may become a Challenger and rejoin the line.
Timing
1. The event starts at 12pm. To compete, you must have purchased entry AND be at the event before 1pm.
2. The initial Champions will be determined at random from players in attendance at the start of the event.
3. Each challenge will be best-of-3 and have a maximum time allowance of 20min +2min sleeving.
4. If a challenge goes to time, the player with the most Lore wins that game. If both players have the same Lore, the Champion wins that game. If time is called, causing each player to have won a game, the Champion wins that challenge.
5. To mitigate potential time-wasting/delays, we encourage players to play quickly, with turns being ended by the judge if a player is taking an excessive time to make a play.
5a. We also encourage players using sleeves to have them ready when they take their seat (e.g. unsleeving their previous challenge deck while in line).
6. Additional challenges may be purchased until 4pm. After that time, play will continue until all purchased challenges have been completed. If all challenges are completed before 4pm, challenge play will end.
7. Then, the current Champions will face-off in elimination matches to determine who is Champion of Pack Mountain!
Game Play
1. Games will consist of best-of-3 Pack Rush, using regular Pack Rush rules.
2. Each player in a match will have two Archazia's Island boosters which make up their deck for that challenge.
3. The art card in each booster will be removed and used as starting ink (i.e. each player starts with two ink).
4. The remaining cards in each booster will be shuffled together without looking at the contents. You may sleeve the cards first, without viewing them.
5. The starting player will be determined by random dice roll for the first game, with subsequent games started by the loser of the previous game.
6. Each player will need to gather 15 Lore to win. Or 25 Lore if their opponent has Donald Duck - Flustered Sorcerer in play.
7. At the conclusion of the match, players may look through their decks.
