Three longtime friends—now associates of Parents for Peace—will share their journeys, and invite our community to explore dismantling hate.
About this Event

This program will bring together three remarkable individuals, Arno Michaelis, Tamara Meyer, and Daryl Davis, whose lives and friendship challenge assumptions and illuminate the transformative power of human connection.

The Event will be split in two sessions:

Session 1 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM in the 3rd Floor Lounge

Session 2 from 2:15 PM - 4:00 PM in the 3rd Floor Lounge

The speakers at both Sessions include:

  • Arno Michaelis, once a leader in the White Nationalist movement, left hatred behind after unexpected acts of kindness—a Jewish boss who promoted him, a Black coworker who shared a sandwich, and the love of his young daughter.
  • Tamara Meyer, daughter of German Jewish Holocaust survivors, found healing and purpose by forging friendships with descendants of former Nazis, confronting generational trauma, and building dialogue.
  • Daryl Davis, a Black musician and racial justice advocate, has famously built friendships with members of the Ku Klux Klan, confronting hate not with anger but with curiosity and conversation.

Together, these three longtime friends—now associates of Parents for Peace—will share their journeys, challenge preconceptions, and invite our community to explore how dialogue can dismantle hate.
