This event is divided into 3 parts: Film, Discussion and Worship.
The FILM
We will watch as much as we can of Pilgrims Progress.
THE DISCUSSION
• Only 8 participants ( myself Included )
• Each person MUST bring their bible, notebook and writing utensil. ( PHONE NOTES AND BIBLE APP IS OK )
• Each participant MUST submit 1-3 questions ( these questions direct our discussion)
• Each answer to the question pulled MUST be responded to with either: a scripture only or a testimony with a scripture
• No opinions without scripture will be accepted & no experiences without scripture will be accepted.
• The Host will randomly select a question from a bowl and each participant will pull a number for the order of answering the questions.
• After each question is pulled and read aloud, everyone will have 3 minutes to get their scriptures and testimonies together.
• When a participant answers a question they will respond with the Book, chapter and verse. We will all go to the scripture in our own bibles and follow along as they read what their bible says out loud.
• We are answering your questions with scriptures but this does not promise your immediate understanding. It is important that we all pray for wisdom, understanding and discernment with all the answers we receive during this discussion. It is the Holy Spirit that helps you understand. It is written ( Proverbs 3:5 ) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
• Some scriptures are so matter of fact and plain that there is no denying the answer and there are some that need further prayer for understanding. This is a challenge. Especially considering the hope is that 8 different scriptures will be presented in response to each question. Most church leaders and bible studies only focus on one or two. Please come ready to accept the challenge of biblical diligence and obedience to The Word of God.
PERSONAL PRAISE & WORSHIP
• We will take 5 minutes to meditate and pray on what was discussed and focus on what " moved you or touched you personally " by our discussion.
• If you have instruments you use for praise and worship, and you feel moved to use them, this Is ok. But I challenge you to open your mouth and vocalize, even shouting if singing is not your strength. (Psalm 98:4) Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
• Which ever sound you decide to use it must be repeated over and over until all participants have added their sound. It is ok and expected that each sound will have a rhythmic break as to not lose breath. So keep this in mind when you choose what words or sounds you will share.
• The world can make one feel ...if we dont do something perfectly that we should not try. Please understand that this praise and worship experience is personal, and is for the glory of God not for boasting and pride amongst brethren. Close your eyes If you need, and focus on The Lord.
What To Bring to This Event
• Bible ( kjv or your preferred version)
I do ask that you leave any controversial books and content at home. No Apocrypha, Third Testament or any missing books of the bible. This rule is to keep the conversation focused and without confusion. Everyone is bringing a bible with 66 books, old testament and new testament only. This event is for unity, the world divides us enough.
• Feel free to bring something to drink and snacks, I will provide hot tea.
• A notebook and writing utensil or your phone notepad is ok
• Come prepared with your 1-3 questions.
• Come ready to pray, study and worship.
• Feel free to bring your business cards, social media handles, emails and contact info to share with participants you feel you want to stay in contact with. I will not share your information with anyone. I will leave this up to you.
• Come ready to share and listen. I ask that you keep what is discussed here private. This is a circle of Wise Counsel not gossip or tale bearing. Let's keep this event sacred in that we can come and share our burdens and questions and concerns without judgment. We leave the judgement to scripture, the Word, for the Word is God. So let God be the judge. Amen.
• Come Humble. Indeed this whole event is a humbling experience.
