Hertfordshire Natural History Society’s volunteer members have been keeping track of the county’s wildlife and habitats since 1875. This talk will contrast its Victorian origins, established by wealthy, sometimes eccentric enthusiasts, with its modern role applying ‘citizen science’ to record our changing natural environment in challenging times.
It is linked to the ‘Wild about Hertfordshire’ exhibition in the Keeper’s Galleries (21 March to 6 July)
