About this Event
We are thrilled to announce our very first Sake class at Marketview Liquor! This is another category that has grown immensely over the past few years. Sake is an alcoholic beverage that is made by fermenting rice that has been “polished” to remove the bran. Despite the name Japanese rice wine, Sake, and indeed any East Asian rice wine (such as huangjiu and cheongju), is produced by a brewing process more akin to that of beer, where starch is converted into sugars that ferment into alcohol. It is all so fascinating! Join Holly and special guest, Curtis Eaton from Vintus Wines, as we explore the fermentation process, discuss the different categories of Sake, and of course – taste some good Sake food pairings!
