Whether you're new to the island or a longtime resident, this event, brought to you by and will give you the opportunity to connect with the Puerto Rico's artisan legacy, learn about the history and world of the Boricua craftsmanship and create lasting memories.
Come alone, bring your partner, a friend or the whole family and join us in this fun event to learn and explore about Puerto Rico's rich artisan heritage in the heart of Old San Juan.
Event Details & Highlights
- Date: Saturday, November 4th
- Time: 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- Cost: $15pp (children under 10 years old can join for free). Lunch and hands-on event are individually purchased.
- Meeting Point: 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM. In front of the Office of Tourism at Paseo La Princesa, Old San Juan.
The 3-part experience consists of:
1️⃣ Guided Artisan Tour at Paseo La Princesa. Learn through a passionate artisan interpreter about the history of the Puerto Rican craft heritage as you engage with the artisans and their crafts in the vibrant artisan craft market of the Paseo La Princesa in Old San Juan.
2️⃣ Lunch or Snack at La Casita de Rones (Casita Rosa). Savor a delightful lunch or snack (individually purchased) in the charming courtyard of La Casita de Rones. Dive deeper into the world of artisan craftsmanship and mingle with fellow enthusiasts.
3️⃣ Craft Your Own Masterpiece with a Hands-On Experience! Unleash your creativity in this engaging crafting adventure where you can choose between crafting your very own personalized leather bracelet or your very own tobacco cigar. Younger participants will have the opportunity to create a "gallito," a traditional game made from algarroba seeds, and learn to play this classic game along with other beloved traditional favorites. This unique crafting experience is available for $20 per participant, promising a memorable, hands-on journey into Puerto Rico's artisan traditions for all ages.
