Join well-known local personalities, William Mankelow and Stuart 'The Wildman' Mabbutt, and take an Alphabet Walk around the Turrill Sculpture Garden in Summertown, Oxford.This workshop will be perfect for anyone looking at easing back out into nature, individually or coming along as a family group etc. We'll be Covid safe whilst getting people back out into nature.
Together, as a group, we'll be exploring the garden and its sculptures, through photography, and an increased sensory awareness of the garden around us.
What makes this an alphabet walk? Well, William and Stuart will take a letter each, and work their way through the alphabet, to focus our attention on the world around us. For example, A is for Aperture, B is for Blue Tit, C is for Camera and so on. William will focus on the photography aspect, and Stuart will bring in his knowledge of the flora, fauna and local wildlife of the area.
We'll be meeting at the back gate by the Alexandra Park Tennis Club as the library will be closed. There is pay and display parking here, plus access from both the Woodstock Road, and Middle Way.
The gates are narrow but navigable by wheelchair, and that the site is a private walled garden, that is open in nature, without much shelter.
Stout footwear and appropriate clothing for the time of year is advised and drinks etc. you may need should be brought along too.
