Discover the power of creative writing for social change. Youth and young adult writers (14-24 years old) are invited to explore the art of creative writing with published performance poet, AJ Delsignor. During this free, three-week series, each participant will get the opportunity to develop creative writing skills and create a work of their own. Later on, they will have a chance to perform their project at a showcase.
AJ will discuss the power of voice in poetry, enhancing written work using civic imagination practices, and developing awareness of how creative writing can create positive social change. This series will ask the participants about their “superpowers” in how they convey their beliefs and hope for the future of our community. AJ will lead activities that bring out the freedom, the emotion, and the confidence it takes to express hope and action to sustain an equitable and uplifting community through art and creativity.
