Discover the Greenway 5K by Wolf River Conservancy

Wolf River Conservancy, whose mission is to protect and preserve the Wolf River and its watershed, is hosting its annual “Discover the Greenway” awareness and FUNdraising campaign, this summer, June 3 – June 10, 2023.

The week will feature a host of events EVERYONE can enjoy, from walking to biking to paddling, and more. And NEW this year – we are adding the Discover the Greenway 5K! This event will be the culmination of an entire week of fun outdoors on Saturday, June 10th, 8am at the Wolf River Greenway – Shady Grove Trailhead (6324 Humphreys Blvd, 38120).

The events for the week include: Paddle the Wolf, Family Paddle, Sunset Yoga, Nature Walk, Poker Ride and the main event: The Greenway 5K!

Attendees are encouraged to take selfies at various stations that you must "discover" along the Greenway for amazing prizes. And did we mention there are DEFINITELY prizes for the winners of the 5K? Well, there are! We're talking OUT OF THIS WORLD prize packs from Breakaway Running, Orvis and Outdoors Inc! (Like...you could literally leave with a kayak, bike or a $500 giftcard to one of these amazing stores!)

The work we do today, to raise awareness, secure funding and get people out onto the Wolf River Greenway, will ensure that Memphians, for years to come, have a natural home on the Wolf River Greenway and have an endless supply of that delicious water we’ve all come to know and love.

We encourage all community members, kids, parents, dogs (on leashes), nature lovers, walkers, bikers, hikers, nature enthusiasts, community builders to join us for Discover the Greenway!

$30 covers both events for now. Cost goes up to $40 the week before the 5K.
