Our three part canning series is designed for everyone from beginners to home chefs looking to master the craft of food preservation. Whether you are interested in preserving fresh summer fruits, or extending the life of your home grown vegetables, this series will guide you every step of the way. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Class 1: The Essentials of Canning. Begin your journey with a comprehensive introduction to canning. Learn about the science behind food preservation, necessary equipment, safety measures, and the different methods used to ensure your jars are properly sealed and safe for consumption. By the end of this class, you'll be confident in your canning knowledge and ready to dive into hands on practice.
Class 2: Water Bath Canning. Experience a hands on demonstration as you learn the water bath method used for preserving high-acid foods like fruits, jams, jellies, and pickles. We will guide you through each step of the process, from prepping the ingredients, to sealing your jars. You will walk away with your own homemade canned goods and the skills to recreate them at home.
Class 3: Pressure Canning. In this final class, we will tackle the more advanced skill of pressure canning. You will learn how to safely preserve low-acid foods like vegetables, meats, and soups. We will demystify the pressure canner, showing you how to use this essential tool to create shelf-stable meals that last all year.

Class 2: Sunday, October 6th @ 1:30pm
Class 3: Sunday, October 13th @ 1:30pm
LOCATION
All classes will be held at Hawthorne Country Store in Escondido. (675 W Grand Ave, Escondido CA 92029)
COST
$225 includes all three classes, materials, and take home goods. Individual classes may be purchased for $75 (+ $5 materials fee).
