Shooting Star Earrings Workshop
Have you always wanted to learn beadwork?
Join us on Saturday July 27th at BBAM! Gallery in St-Henri for a unique workshop led by award-winning artist Samwell Guertin.
In this workshop, we will be creating a pair of stunning shooting star earrings, designed by Samwell himself.

This workshop serves as an excellent introduction to the peyote
stitch technique, which involves weaving Japanese cylindrical beads into a shape called warp-squares.
Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, you'll find this workshop both informative and enjoyable.

Samwell Guertin is a versatile visual artist who originally hails from Ottawa and has made Montreal his home since 2011. His deep passion for glass art has led him to spend the last five years immersing himself in his art and developing a specialized expertise unique to this medium.
Having recently graduated from Espace Verre in June 2023, Samwell’s art encompasses a range of techniques including beading, neon, glassblowing, and kiln-fusing.
His work was showcased at the Bridges conference in Halifax in 2023 and as part of the 32nd cohort of Espace Verre. Throughout his career, he has been honored with several prestigious awards: the Bourse Houdé Houdé-Mendel, Faire la Difference, and Verre et Société.

Artistic Approach
A note from Samwell Guertin
My creations delve into the geometric patterns and shapes that abound in nature. Guided by an instinct for symmetry and repetition, I create sculptures that draw inspiration from mathematical principles, particularly focusing on lines and curves.
