
About this Event
Join Oregon and Washington Sea Grant experts on a guided walk along Port of Ilwaco commercial docks.
- Learn about Ilwaco's working waterfront and the sustainable seafood the fishing fleet brings back to the dock.
- Learn how seafood is harvested in Ilwaco and how to distinguish the different types of fishing vessels and gear. We might even meet a fisherman or two along the way!
What to expect:
- Each tour will last 60 - 90 minutes. Participants should expect to be walking or standing the entire tour. Total walking distance will be approximately 1/2 mile.
- Tours will start at 10 am and 1 pm.
- Each participant will recieve a complimentary gift tote bag with informational resources and local seafood products.
What to bring:
- Dress for the weather.
- Comfortable, closed-toes shoes recommended.
Parking:
- The Port of Ilwaco has plenty of parking along Howerton Ave. We will meet at the West Ramp, which can be accessed from Waterfront Way near the SkyWater Gallery and Salt Pub.
