Discover Harriet Tubman on Maryland’s Eastern Shore

A Storytelling Journey Like No Other

Step into history with professional guides and storytellers Lauri Williamson and Ella Schiralli on an unforgettable day trip exploring the life and legacy of Harriet Tubman. More than a tour, this is an immersive experience where history comes alive through powerful stories, local voices, and hidden narratives you won’t hear anywhere else.

Our journey begins in downtown Washington, DC, traveling by motor coach to Cambridge, Maryland, the homeland of Harriet Tubman. Along the way, you’ll:

  • Walk in Harriet’s footsteps at the very places that shaped her courage and unshakable vision of freedom.
  • Stop at the Harriet Tubman Educational & Research Center to capture a photo with the iconic “Take My Hand” mural, a powerful tribute to her legacy.
  • Visit the acclaimed Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center, where exhibits and landscapes reveal her extraordinary story.
  • Hear the most up-to-date findings on Harriet's life in the area.
  • Hear about the heritage of the Chesapeake Bay’s Black Watermen, whose untold stories of skill and resilience helped shape the region.
  • Hear personal stories from community voices, lending authentic perspectives on life along the Eastern Shore.
  • Journey through the Eastern Shore landscapes that shaped Frederick Douglass’s early life and vision of freedom.
  • Experience history through fresh perspectives and interpretation, even if you’ve visited before.

This is not your typical bus tour. With Lauri and Ella as your guides, you’ll gain a deeper, more human understanding of Harriet Tubman and her Eastern Shore roots—through the eyes of professional storytellers who weave history, place, and people into one unforgettable narrative.

Small/medium group experience. Whether you come with friends or on your own, you’ll leave with new connections and a deeper understanding of Harriet Tubman’s extraordinary courage and enduring legacy.
