Discover Gardening!
Suggested for grades 3 - 5
- Visit the Montgomery County Fairgrounds and learn about Gardening at the University of Maryland Garden Discovery Day on September 21st, 2024!
- Visit our gardens with Master Gardeners for inspiration and learn the essentials of gardening and garden design, and then plant your own.
- See different types of plants, how, when and where they grow best.
- Experiment and closely examine the effects of sun, water and soil types on plant growth.
Discover Gardening! will cover the requirements for the Girl Scout Junior Gardener badge and the Cub Scout Bear Adventure: Fur, Feathers, and Ferns badge.
Come dressed for the weather. Some parts of the badge will take place outside, rain or shine.
This is not a drop-off program. We request 1 adult for every 8 children in your group. Adults are free and do not require a ticket.
