DiscoTech returns for the May edition of Providence’s favorite Friday night. This month we welcome DJ / Producer Josh Ritter from Denver, Colorado. Josh joined us a year ago for Perfekt, we enjoyed his set so much that we were sure to get his tour back to Providence in 2024. This time he brings he brand of house and dance floor heat to The Parlour and its floor to ceiling speaker stacks. Residents HUGE and Sex on Decks will be on open and closing duties. Josh first found house music in Los Angeles’s underground rave scene in the mid 1990s, falling in love with the music and having it become a life-long passion. Under the guidance of some of the most respected DJs and promoters in southern California, he began his journey as a promoter in San Diego with the legendary underground house party, Da Shizzy. Since then, he has successfully had production Crews in Greenville, South Carolina; Shreveport, Louisiana; Las Vegas, Nevada; Dallas, Texas; and now in his new home of Denver, Colorado. One can find him still hosting some of the most respected All House Underground events.
He is widely respected as one of the hardest working people behind the scenes of house music.He owned vinyl labels in the 2000’s, such as Anonymous Recordings, Beat Platter Recordings, and the bootleg Label One Night in Long Beach. Today, he runs Guesswho?Imprints, as well as being behind the scenes on countless other projects.
Josh is respected as a DJ’s DJ, playing all styles of house and having opened for legends in then field such as Doc Martin, DJ Dan, Jesse Saunders, Charles Feelgood, Tortured Souls, Demarkus Lewis, Mitch Dodge, Jonene, and many more. He earns the respect from his peers every time he plays.
During the Pandemic a group of house heads from around the world came together to do a bad ass NYE/NYD live stream that brought local level DJs from around the world together with international level talent. One House Global Unity was born from there and is an organic twitch channel that has grown beyond our wildest dreams and truly brings people.
Josh ritter currently releases original music and remixes under the names NeverWas and Danger cube with partners Jaywood and Chad Rogers. The last 10 tracks were in the top 50 in the world for their genres. With Spotify listeners in over 75 countries, Josh has earned his place in the house music world.
Post-pandemic, he has three years of constant touring and has played in cities from coast to coast with a style known for bootlegs and an “always mixing, every fader up” style of relentless house music.
